Ramsey is 8!  Hard to believe we have an 8 year old!  Ramsey had a great 8th birthday day!  He started off with a morning picture before heading to school! :)

I arrived around 9:00 with donuts per his request and we had a breakfast party with his class.  I saw this wonderful self portrait in the hall outside his classroom.

We took a quick picture with one of his favorite people, his school's reading specialist.

We stuck a number 8 candle in a Krispy Kreme donut and sang Happy Birthday!

 Ramsey with his wonderful teacher.

Daddy and James also came to his school party.  John had school that morning and had to miss the party.

That night was the end-of-year soccer party.  Ramsey was excited to celebrate that on his birthday.  John was happy about the soccer cookies we brought.

And finally when we got home, Ramsey got to open his present.  A HUGE new tackle box.  He was thrilled!

Welcome Baby Sawyer

Ahhhh, where do I begin?  I think this is the longest blog break I have taken since starting this blog four years ago.  It was not on purpose, it just happened.  I have literally have had a hard time keeping up lately.  I hate it too because I feel like I miss the simple everyday life that I like to blog about.  I hit the highlights and brush aside the things I enjoy the most about my little family life.  Like tonight, we sat outside on the patio, all five of us, eating the Pioneer Woman's Chicken Pasta Florentine and talking about whatever pops into the boys' heads.  One day I'll catch up...one day.

So in my attempt to catch up, I'll start here...

A few weeks ago, a few friends and I threw my sister-in-law, Jamie, a baby shower at one of her favorite restaurants.  It was a great way to begin the welcoming of baby Sawyer into this world.  Friends came from near and far to shower Jamie and she got lots of cute things.

Jamie and the hostesses minus one.

Party favors were sunflower seeds to be planted in honor of baby Sawyer.

The hostesses got her this awesome timi and leslie diaper bag.

The Pantry made the most awesome food!

We are so looking forward to meeting baby Sawyer in July!  Corey and I are ready to add another boy to the mix!  I know our boys will love him so much!

Come Fish and Play!

Ramsey and John had their 8th and 6th birthday party at Lake Willastein Park on April 22nd.  Lake Willastein is such a beautiful park with plenty of room and lots to do!  When deciding where to have their birthday party this year, both of them easily agreed on Lake Willastein Park.  They got so excited talking about it!  Ramsey wanted to fish and John wanted to "play with his friends and have a pinata".  We accomplished all that and more!  The kids fished in Lake Willastein, played games, football, baseball, played with rocket launchers, crochet, pulled each other in the wagon, played with worms and crickets, looked at fishing lures, hit the pinata, played chase...you name it, they did it!  It was a beautiful day in spite of the wind!  Ramsey and John loved their party and I am so glad!

The tent sort of set up.  Not everything is out here, but you get the idea.  The wind was so bad it kind of got in the way of some of my presentation and I didn't quite get to put all my decor out!  Ha!  It still looked cute though!

The kids loved bagging up worms and minnows!  We had none left!

I was planning on using a cupcake stand for the cupcakes, but the wind was just terrible and I was afraid they would blow over.  I hurriedly set the cupcakes out at the VERY last minute and prayed that they would not all come flying off!

James obviously had his little finger in the cupcake on the left!  I could hardly keep him out of them!

Everyone got to catch a fish!  Corey helped me with this idea by cutting sticks and putting the bobbers on each pole.  All those sticks came from trees in our yard.  Easy, fun party favor and the kids loved it!

The cookies came in blue, red, yellow and green!

YAY!!!!  It's our big day!  They loved the outfits, especially John!  It's the little things.  :)

John was so excited about this pinata!  He had it filled up a ready to go well before the party.  It was so cute that I didn't want the kids to beat it up!  But they did and had a great time doing it!

James sneaking into the night crawlers before the guests arrive!

Bop and James practicing baseball.  Dad is a great coach!

So much room to spread out all over the place!

John and one of his sweet friends.  They have had a great year together!

 Ramsey's tackle box.

I'm sure Ramsey is explaining everything to his friends!  He could look through his tackle box FOREVER!

Andrew searching for just the right lure!

Discussing crickets.  Bring worms and crickets to a party and the boys are in heaven!
