Go Grizz Go!

Last Sunday we went with some friends over to Memphis to hang out for the day. We dropped James off in Jonesboro to stay with Papa Duke and Mama Duke. It was MUCH easier without him.  We ate burgers at Huey's before heading over to the FedEx Forum to watch the Memphis Grizzlies play basketball.

We walked through the Peabody to check out the ducks.

When we first got to the Forum, we got our grizzly capes and went and got autographs from the mascots.

The mascots were really funny!

Then the kids got their faces/hands painted.  Obviously my children are little more conservative when it comes to face painting.  Ramsey wanted a Grizzly on one cheek and a basketball on the other.  John just wanted his hand painted.  I was a little surprised John didn't go all out, but a little later he started running really high fever.  That explained his behavior.  Bless his heart!

Holding John during the game.  He was delirious!  I gave him some Motrin, but he never really felt good.  He did continue to run fever for the next couple of days, but is doing much better now.  Ramsey stayed with our friends and went to the zoo the next day.  We drove back home that night.  James stayed with Papa Duke and Mama Duke and they brought him back the next day.  It was James' first time to stay overnight away from me.  Can you believe in 2 1/2 years I have never been away from him?  I just haven't been able to do it.  He's my baby!  I always feel much better when I have all my babies with me.  Mama hen.

A Little Green

One day last week John took at St. Patrick's Day treat to school. We made these white chocolate covered pretzel clovers. He was very proud!  The next day, Friday, the class came home with cute Leprechaun hats.  I forgot to dress John in green that day!  St. Patrick's Day was on Saturday so I wasn't thinking.  He got in the car with a green clover pinned to his shirt.  He told me he got it because he did not wear any green and that was so he would be wearing green.  I said, "Oh John I'm so sorry!  I wasn't thinking about y'all celebrating it today."  He said, "That's OK.  If I would have worn green then I wouldn't have gotten this clover pin.  I really wanted the clover pin."  :)

He was also very proud to show me his Lucky Leprechaun!  John decided he was lucky "because God made me."

What a fantastic drawing of a Leprechaun, John!  Miss Bonnie said you were an artist and I think so too!

Grandparents Day/Weekend

Ramsey's school celebrated Grandparents Day about a week ago. Bop, Berry, Mama Duke and Papa Duke came to visit Ramsey and see his school.
The grandparents attended a little ceremony then toured the classrooms.  After they were "dismissed", Ramsey took them to the book fair to buy some books.  He came home with plenty of books!

Watercolor self portrait.

We all ate lunch at Loca Luna and Jamie joined us.

That night John had a soccer game and Ramsey had baseball practice.  James and I went to baseball practice with Ramsey while Bop, Berry and Corey went to John's soccer game.

The next morning was Ramsey's soccer game.  We all got to attend that!

Ramsey is doing really well at soccer.  I overheard a dad from the other team say, "Who is #4?  He is a stud."  Then when he realized Ramsey was our son, he told us how great he was.  I am proud of Ramsey.  He tries really hard!

When we got home, there was no time to waste.  Batting practice in the backyard!  Love how Bop is in the ready position!

Bop and Berry kept the boys that night so Corey and I could attend Ramsey's school auction.  It was fabulous.  We had a great adult night out!

James giving Bop some loving.  Not sure why Bop has the towel on his head?  :)

James praying/fight song

This video is so funny to me!  I told James to sing and song and I would video him with my phone.  He starts praying and he couldn't help himself and it turns into the Razorback fight song.
Here are his words:
"Let us thank him for our food.
By his hands, we are fed.
Give us Lord, Rah.
Never fear, Rah! Rah!
Never fear, Rah! Rah!
Arkansas will never yield.
On toes Razorbacks finish!
Carry on with me!
Rah! Rah!  Never fear!
FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!

Dribble it! Pass it! We want a basket!

The basketball team had a fun pizza party before the Upward's closing ceremonies celebration.  We all met at U.S. Pizza and ate, received their trophies, had fun cookies and a little party favor from Corey and me.  The team was so fun this year and I hated to see it end!  I have to brag on my husband a little.  The boys loved him!  Parents told me so many positive things about their experience with Coach Corey.  He had a great time coaching too!
 Krazy Straw cup party favor!

 Trophies!  The boys LOVE trophies!

A great basketball player with his great coach!

Teammates!

The boys and their parents got Corey two great gift cards!  Bonefish and his favorite bike shop, Chainwheel!

After pizza we all headed to the Upward ceremony at the church.  It was packed!  The team sat together and watched an illusionist/speaker and laughed the whole time.

All the boys received this Upward bag as their end of season gift.  What fun!  Looking forward to next year!

John and James got cups too!

Last Basketball Game

Ramsey and his team had a really great basketball season. I was sad to see it end. They played in their last game almost two weeks ago now. Boy how time flies! Ramsey loves, loves, loves playing basketball and because Corey was his coach this year he loved it even more!  The other day we were passing the church where Ramsey played basketball.  He said, "I miss that place."  He's already looking forward to next year!

Congratulations on a great season of basketball guys!  It was a lot of fun watching both of you out there!
