The Storm, The Bass and The Dolphins!

John had a great soccer game on Friday night. John would want me to tell you they won, of course. They beat the Super Sonics and all week I will hear about how they beat the Super Sonics. Last week I heard all about beating the Grasshoppers. Sometimes he would forget who they played and out of the blue he would say, "Who did we beat again?" I would say, "The Grasshoppers." John would reply, "Yes, we beat the Grasshoppers." When we got to the game Friday night he said, "There are the Grasshoppers. We beat them. I wonder if they will win tonight." It is fun that he is so competitive and I hate to burst his excitement, but he does need to be a little more subtle about it. I wonder how he is going to act when they don't win??? Once again, James hindered my photography that night. At one point, a stranger was yelling, "James, come back!" The nice man had heard me calling his name over and over. I guess he thought James was getting too far away so he decided he would help out too!  Hey, it takes a village!  During the soccer game, Ramsey played a game of pick up football with friends.  By the way, John's team is The Storm.  He talks and talks about how storms are so strong.  He wondered why his shirt was blue/green (teal) because storms were not blue/green...I said, "Well maybe it is a storm from the blue/green ocean like a hurricane."  Then he says, "Then why aren't we called the Hurricanes?"
I took the boys to a self serve yogurt place close to our house after the soccer game. They picked their yogurt and all of the toppings and ate EVERY bite! James ate quite a bit too!
It was a beautiful weekend!  We did lots of playing outside and Ramsey enjoyed the perfect weather to fish!  He fished in the backyard and caught a couple of bass and some sun fish.  Ramsey, John and Corey also went fishing at the Arkansas river and had a great time there!  James could not keep his hands off of the fish.  He was so cute talking about the fish.

Ramsey and one of his bass.  Love James' little hand sneaking in the picture!

I finally got some football pictures posted!  I know I say this all the time, but I'll say it again...It is extremely hard to take pictures while taking care of James!  Corey was "working the chains" and my job was to make sure James didn't run out on the field.  He LOVES playing ball...football, soccer, whatever!  He threw our football out on the field several times and would run to go get it!  I just knew he was going to get plowed before the game was over!  Anyway, Ramsey is playing football again this year and he is on the Dolphins team! Because of his birth date, he had to move up a league and is not playing with the kids in his grade.  A sweet friend had to do the same and they are having fun together playing against kids that are turning 9 years old and in 3rd grade!  I am so glad this is not tackle football!   He misses his team from last year, but is adjusting well and says he likes the dolphin mascot for a few reasons...(These are his reasons not mine!)  1. They are from Miami, Florida and Florida is his favorite state.  2.  Dolphins swim in the ocean.  (I said "yeah, Ramsey they are fish!  You love fish!"  He responds, "The are not fish, they are mammals, but you can call them fish if you want too."  I stand corrected.)  3.  He likes the colors: blue and orange.  Ramsey loves football and loves playing defense!  He is quick on his feet and likes to get down low to grab those flags.  He will chase you down to grab your flag so watch out!
The defense waiting on their turn!

While we came up short on the score board, Ramsey had a really good game!  He got a star sticker for his helmet for his great game!  He has a really sweet team with great parents!  Corey and I have met some fun, nice people that I enjoy chatting with every week!  Funny story:  Corey, John and I were so proud of Ramsey and we were talking to him about the game as we were walking off the field.  All of a sudden I felt like something was missing...JAMES!  I said, "Corey!  James!"  We turned around and saw him waaaaay  back on the field standing there by himself eating oreos.  I promise I am a better mother than that!

Well, that last story makes me feel better...especially after you saw Crosby wandering over to the neighbor's house the other day when we were talking!!! I count the kids every time we get in the car--sounds ridiculous to count to three (plus sometimes the neighbor for carpool and our dog), but in all the talking and confusion, I can honestly see how I could forget to put someone in the car!

So cute what R said about the dolphins/fish. :)

Have a great week!

Your boys are just gorgeous! I like the captions you placed on some of your pictures- how do you do that?
