John's school had parent chapel this week. Parents were invited to attend a special chapel with the children. We are always welcome at chapel but this was a little different with a few more bells and whistles. John was asked whether he would like to light a candle or extinguish a candle and he chose extinguish. I think he might have just wanted to say the word "extinguish"! Ha! He told me that he liked to see the smoke after the candle goes out. OK. I got there early so I could have a seat on the front row. I wanted to make sure I could see my John extinguish that candle! So he had a great Chapel Service and the children were so well behaved. They entered the sanctuary with chapel hands and I think John kept his chapel hands most of the service. Those kids never made a peep! Four and five year olds sitting side by side perfectly still and quiet! Wow! The teachers and church staff do such a great job, I really shouldn't be surprised. Last Sunday at church we were in line walking up to the alter to take the Holy Eucharist as we do every Sunday when John started belting out the Hymn that the choir was singing. I had no idea he knew the Hymn. It was the sweetest sound! He said they sing it in Chapel. :) He loves Chapel.

Here he comes back! Great job John! We love you!
My day of Chapel didn't end there. I then went to Ramsey's school sat with him during Chapel and the Holy Eucharist. It was a very sweet service as well. Again, those kids (1st thru 5th grade) were perfectly behaved. They are so serious about their Chapel services. After Chapel I stayed at Ramsey's school and helped out. The teachers had a Christmas luncheon and so the classrooms needed a sub for and hour and a half or so. Another mom and I had lunch with Ramsey's class and then took them back to their classroom. One mom read them books while I had each child with me one at a time making Christmas ornaments. We had a great time and the class was great. I was exhausted though! I don't know how teachers do it! From John's school to Ramsey's school, we have great teachers all around! A big thanks to them! (And if you are wondering where the pictures are from Ramsey's school, I didn't take any. I did take my camera but I was so busy, I never took a picture. The ornaments we were making involved paint so my camera didn't even come out of my bag.)
