Pinewood Derby

Ramsey had his Pinewood Derby with the Cub Scouts about a week ago. He and Corey worked hard on his car. They sanded, sawed, painted, drilled, and weighed the car until they thought it was just right. While it didn't win (there were 32 other cars), it did very well. It raced several times and won a couple of races and came in 2nd a few times. I was proud of Ramsey and Corey!

Ramsey loves his car.  He wanted it to be silver with blue wheels.  He then wanted to put decals on it.  He was uncertain of exactly what stickers he wanted until he saw these.  I went to Hobby Lobby and bought a couple different themes I thought he might like.  He was thrilled with this set of decals.  It won hands down to him...Turbo Ram!  He loved that is said his name and had Rams on it. 

When it was Ramsey's turn to race, the announcer called out Ramsey's name along with three other boys.  The Scouts were chanting "Ram-sey!" "Ram-sey!"  over and over.  It was so sweet.  After his car won the first race, I looked for Ramsey and saw that his face was bright red and he had his hood on his head.  Such a humble winner. :)

Ramsey with the winner!  His friend, Will!  Although Ramsey didn't win, he was so proud of Will.  Out of 33 cars, Will came in first place!
